Fixed-Wing Flight School

Arapahoe Flight Club's Fixed-Wing Career Track Program is built for aspiring pilots seeking a streamlined, no-nonsense path to the flight deck. Whether you're starting with zero flight experience or transitioning into a professional aviation career, this program is designed to take you all the way to becoming a Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot and Multi-Engine Flight Instructor (MEI).

Unlike some programs that surprise you with hidden fees, our Career Course is truly all-inclusive. You won’t have to worry about unexpected costs along the way. The program covers everything you need—from checkride fees, a quality aviation headset, and a new iPad, to FAA knowledge test fees and comprehensive study materials.

What really sets us apart is our customized approach to training. While we provide a clear and structured path, this is not a one-size-fits-all syllabus. Each student receives an individualized training plan tailored to their learning style, schedule, and pace—ensuring efficient progress and a solid foundation at every stage of training.

We believe your focus should be on flying—not on fine print.

Whether you’re looking to fly for the airlines, cargo, corporate aviation, or other professional pathways, our fast-track approach gets you there efficiently and effectively.

We also allow students to choose their own timeline, allowing students to have flexibility in their schedule.

Training in Colorado Springs

Training at Colorado Springs (KCOS) offers a distinct advantage. From day one, you’ll operate out of a busy Class C airport, gaining valuable experience with ATC communications in a real-world, dynamic airspace environment. This early exposure helps you build confidence and professionalism that many pilots don’t develop until much later in their careers.

In addition to complex airspace, Colorado's high-density altitude and diverse weather patterns provide a unique and challenging training environment. You'll learn how to safely operate aircraft in thinner air and varying conditions—skills that are essential for mountain flying and extremely valuable across all types of aviation careers.

Mountain Flying Course

A standout feature of our Career Track Program is the Mountain Flying Course, included at no extra cost.

You’ll train in real-world mountain environments, learning how to navigate rugged terrain, manage high-density altitude operations, and handle rapidly changing mountain weather.

With personalized instruction and flights into challenging airports like Leadville, Aspen, Telluride, and more, this course gives you advanced skills that set you apart from other pilots. You'll gain confidence operating in tight valleys, learning precise aircraft control and situational awareness in high terrain—skills that are essential for backcountry, corporate, and airline operations alike.

Flying in the Colorado Rockies also sharpens your decision-making, improves your performance planning, and teaches you to adapt quickly—qualities that employers value highly. Simply put, if you can fly here, you can fly anywhere.

Why Arapahoe?

Our Career Course is designed to provide more flight hours than most other career-track programs. By the end of your training, you'll have logged 326 total flight hours, including an impressive 35 hours in multi-engine aircraft—far more than many competing schools offer.

Each rating in our program is structured to give you the experience you need to succeed—not just the FAA minimums. This means you'll be better prepared, more confident, and fully ready for each checkride.

We also recognize that every student learns differently. That’s why each Career Course is custom-tailored to your individual needs, maximizing your success and efficiency throughout the program.

Best of all, our course is priced lower than many competitors, yet offers significantly more value. With checkride fees, FAA written exams, and training materials included—a package worth up to $10,000—you’ll get exceptional training without unexpected costs.
